Sports Dietician (f/m/d)

We are looking for a Sports Dietician who understands how to combine the theory and practice of sports nutrition in high-performance sport. The aim is to provide our athletes with the best and most up-to-date scientific nutrition for important races and training camps without forgetting how important taste is for the daily mental state. You should love being on the road and cooking the necessary meals for athletes in a modern kitchen truck or hotel kitchen with creativity and according to the performance goals.

Primary responsibilities include counseling individuals and groups on daily nutrition for performance; translating the latest scientific evidence into practical sports nutrition recommendations; preparing the necessary food at the races and in training camps.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assesses and analyzes dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance (intake and expenditure) of athletes in the context of athletic performance and health in cooperation with the team nutritionists
  • Counsels athletes on optimal nutrition for exercise training (match nutrition to training phases and goals), competition, recovery from exercise, weight management, hydration, immunity, disordered eating, travel and supplementation
  • Planning and preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for the athletes at races and in training camps
  • Counsels athletes on achieving and maintaining a level of body mass, body fat, and muscle mass that is consistent with good health and good performance
  • Provides personalized meal and snack plans to promote achieving short- and long-term goals for athletic performance and good health
  • Coordinates nutritional care as a member of multidisciplinary sports medical/sports science teams
  • Collaborates with physician, coach and the nutrition department of the team
  • Recommends appropriate pre-, during, and post-exercise fluids and snacks for individual training, team practice and competition
  • Educates staff members and riders in food selection (grocery store tours, food storage) and food preparation (cooking classes)

 

 

Skills and abilities:

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar position in high performance sports or Bachelor or/and master’s degree in sports dietetics
  • Excellent nutrition knowledge
  • Cooking qualities that are necessary to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for high performance cyclists
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence others
  • Ability to accurately assess and evaluate energy balance
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management, organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Flexibility to adapt yourself to changing environments and to be creative
  • Working on weekends and public holidays possible
