World Championship title as the highlight: Team Auto Eder looks back on the best season in the team's history.

In its second year with an international focus, Team Auto Eder has established itself among the absolute world leaders in junior cycling. The season highlights include the road world championship title of Emil Herzog, the European time trial title by Mathieu Kockelmann as well as victories and top placings in numerous international races and championships.

One world championship title, one European championship title, a total of four medals at international championships, five national championship titles as well as numerous other successes - Team Auto Eder recorded a total of 37 season victories in 2022. With this, the Upper Bavarian junior cycling team broke its record from the previous year, when they had advanced to the top of the world in international junior cycling with 31 season victories. In 2022, this path was more than successfully continued: from the beginning of the season in March to the last races in October, the Auto-Eder athletes were competitive at all times and ensured that there was hardly any way past the junior team of the WorldTeam BORA - hansgrohe in the most important races of the year.

With Martin Barta from the Czech Republic, Mathieu Kockelmann from Luxembourg, Duarte Marivoet from Belgium, Romet Pajur from Estonia, Mees Vlot from the Netherlands and the three German athletes Max Bock, Matteo Gross and Emil Herzog, eight riders were part of the 2022 Team Auto Eder squad. Emil Herzog in particular showed his talent: He had a total of twelve UCI victories, the highlight of which was winning the road world championship title in Australia in September. Mathieu Kockelmann also showed his strength: He took eight UCI victories and brought another title to Raubling with the European Time Trial Championship. Romet Pajur also collected five top-class victories: The Estonian proved to be the strongest sprinter of the junior peloton and collected top placings in the mass arrivals like a conveyor belt.

In addition to the sporting successes, team manager Christian Schrot praised the team spirit: The young athletes always presented themselves as a united team, which made the task even more difficult for the opposing teams. One result of this team-internal cooperation was that in many races, several Auto Eder drivers took top positions at the same time.

After the successful season, the riders of Team Auto Eder are now in a well-deserved winter break to begin preparations for the next cycling year in the coming weeks. Mathieu Kockelmann and Romet Pajur will switch to the BORA - hansgrohe partner team Lotto - Kern Haus next year to continue their training in the U23 category. Emil Herzog will also move to the U23 category and compete for the US team Hagens Berman Axeon in 2023. Max Bock, Mees Vlot (team change) and Matteo Groß (transfer to the U23 category) will also leave the team. The new Team Auto Eder squad will then be presented at the beginning of next year.
