Jordi Meeus sixth at Omloop van het Houtland Middelkerke-Lichtervelde

The 196 km long Belgian one-day race traversed flat terrain and concluded with a bunch sprint after eight finishing laps around Lichtervelde. After the break went clear, BORA - hansgrohe took part in the chase work to keep the gap to the leaders at an acceptable level. The escapees were caught just before the finish line, with Jordi Meeus ultimately finishing sixth.

From the Finish Line
"Our plan was to go for the sprint today with Jordi. Unfortunately Ryan, his lead-out rider, had a defect with only 2km remaining, so he wasn't able to be there in the sprint. In the end, Jordi was slightly boxed in on the finishing straight, so wasn't able to really launch his sprint. We had hoped for more, but that's cycling, and we can be satisfied with the Belgian races so far." - Jean-Pierre Heynderickx, Sports Director
